After looking at the base of the glacier from closeup we decided to have a nice hike up on the mountain on the side of the glacier to get a better look from above. Also, as a bonus the route included multiple waterfalls. The, eventually, 19km look we did took us op on the side of the glacier with an amazing view. Once at the highest point of the route the sun even decided to greet us. This was at the 7km mark. Next to return back down we continued on the path, doing another 12km and passing 6 waterfalls. At the end we were tired but still had an hour drive ahead of us to the campsite. All in all, it was a hike worth the views. It is difficult to get the scale of the landscape here across. We've added some pictures in the hope to show the imense vastness of the landscape.
