On our way to Höfn we encountered a woman standing by the side of the road, we stopped and asked what way she was heading. Sadly it was the other direction than we were going. After we stopped in Höfn to discard our trash we then went back on the road. We were happy to see that the hitchhiker was no longer on the intersection where we saw her before, meaning she managed to hitch a ride. But not long after, about 8km, we saw her again, standing by the side of the road. We stopped again and this time we were going in the same direction. Sasha, a woman living in Spain in an RV and currently traveling Iceland on foot, hitchhiking and doing many multiday hikes to explore the countries most rugged nature. We gave her a lift to Diamond Beach. We then continued onwards to find a quiet place to stay for the night.
